Since Hurricane Katrina:

The Mission Continues

ICNA Relief Disaster Response Services: Serving Across the US

In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast. In response to the suffering, ICNA Relief mobilized one of the earliest coordinated responses by American Muslims.

That effort gave birth to ICNA Relief’s Disaster Response Service, and thanks to your incredible support, we haven’t stopped since.

A Mission That’s Always Ready

ICNA Relief Disaster Response Services was born out of Hurricane Katrina, but our work didn’t stop there.

For the past two decades, we have become a trusted name in domestic disaster response, recognized as Our Nation’s Muslim Response to Disasters. In July 2025, we carried out our 100th response while responding to flash flooding in Texas.

Preparedness:

Helping families and communities take proactive steps to stay safe

Response:

Mobilizing immediate aid and compassionate care when disaster strikes

Recovery:

Providing case management, long‑term support, and rebuilding assistance

Our teams are trained and equipped to support all phases of disaster:

We also work year-round to strengthen community resilience, through mitigation, advocacy, training, and planning, so that with your support, when the next crisis comes, we can reach families in need.
