Volunteer with FATE

There are many ways to volunteer with FATE, depending on your interests, availability, and comfort level. Whether you’re looking for a long-term role or flexible, event-based opportunities, your support makes a meaningful difference.

Become a CASA Volunteer

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are trained volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children involved in the foster care system.

FATE partners with local CASA programs to support volunteers from faith-based and culturally diverse communities. CASA volunteers work directly with children, families, and the court to ensure every child has a consistent, informed voice.

1- Mentor Youth Impacted by Foster Care

Mentors provide consistency, encouragement, and guidance to youth who have experienced foster care, family separation, or placement transitions. This role focuses on relationship-building, emotional support, and helping youth develop confidence, identity, and life skills.

2- Support Families During Crisis, Foster Care & Reunification

FATE volunteers help strengthen the circle of care around children by supporting both biological families navigating CPS involvement and foster families caring for children in their homes. Volunteer support may include:

  • Assisting families in crisis with resource coordination
  • Supporting foster families with practical needs
  • Offering encouragement during placements and reunification
  • Helping families feel less isolated during transitions

3- Support Unaccompanied Minors

FATE volunteers support unaccompanied minors through mentoring, community connections, and culturally appropriate assistance. This may include helping youth access resources, build community ties, and navigate key life transitions safely.

4- Assist with Resource Distribution & Community Programs

Volunteers help with initiatives such as:

  • Family Baskets & Welcome Bags
  • Foster Closet support
  • Eid gifts and special distributions
  • Community events and workshops

These roles are flexible and do not require long-term commitments

Not Sure Where You Fit?

That’s okay — many volunteers start by exploring different roles.
Our team will help match you with opportunities that align with your availability, interests, and comfort level.

Some volunteer roles require training or background checks, while others are flexible and event-based.
