Opening your home through foster care is an act of compassion and service. Muslim foster parents help ensure children remain connected to their faith, culture, and identity while receiving the safety and care they deserve.
What It Means to Foster
Foster parenting provides temporary care for children who cannot safely remain in their homes. The goal is always safety, stability, and, when possible, family reunification.
As a foster parent, you:
- Provide a safe, nurturing home during a time of crisis
- Support a child’s emotional, educational, and spiritual needs
- Work as part of a team that may include caseworkers, courts, and biological families

A Moment That Says Everything
One evening, around 9–10 PM, CPS brought two young boys to one of our licensed Muslim foster homes. The children looked exhausted after a long and difficult day.
When the foster mother opened the door while wearing her hijab, the younger child, a toddler, immediately ran to her and climbed into her lap for comfort.
