To alleviate the national hunger crisis striking families throughout America, ICNA Relief has established its hunger relief effort which targets individuals and families alike in providing the basic needs of food and sustenance. ICNA Relief utilizes its full resources to launch effective programs that target impoverished communities thereby bringing life, nourishment, and hope one meal at a time.

ICNA Relief USA fulfills its commitment to end hunger by coordinating the distribution of food and other sustenance related aid to children and families in all over the USA.

ICNA Relief’s national campaign against hunger, Nourish America :: Hunger Relief provides individuals and families with the fuel to survive and thrive. Following the ordinance of Allah SWT to feed the needy, ICNA’s development of key public food assistance programs raises awareness of the hunger epidemic facing our nation as a whole.

The various  hunger relief initiatives of ICNA Relief USA are aimed at raising community awareness, thereby launching efforts to address this growing epidemic. Through comprehensive outreach and service programs, ICNA's Nourish America campaign remains strong in extinguishing the effects of hunger nationwide. Nourish America provides nutritious, fresh foods to  Americans struggling with hunger. ICNA Relief brings nutrition, nourishment, and hope to impoverished families trying to break the cycle of poverty and hunger.  Some of the current programs include:

Baton Rouge, LA: Volunteers Recognized for Their Support of the Feed the Hungry Program

After Maghrib Prayers, Br. Abdul Rauf Khan, Director of ICNA Relief USA, Hunger Prevention Programs, presented Certificates of Appreciation to the Islamic Center of Baton Rouge (ICBR), the MSA (Muslim Students Association) of LSU (Louisiana State University), and the YM (Young Muslim) Sisters Chapter for their great work and strong support of the Feed the Hungry Program (FTH) in Baton Rouge.

The FTH program, overseen by ICNA Relief USA's Sr. Khadija Mohammed, has been blessed to serve around 1,500 meals to the hungry, homeless, and needy in the Baton Rouge area. The YM Sisters Chapter cooks in ICBR's kitchen and is assisted in serving by LSU-MSA on a monthly basis.

Alhamdolillah FEED THE HUNGRY EVENT in Salisbury was a great success. All praises to Allah SWT. We served two shelter homes plus served food to almost 150 needy individuals on Saturday and Sunday 24th and 25th of March 2012.

Great work from all the volunteers and thanks to Islamic Center and Imam Ashraf for supporting this noble cause.

 

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah upon him) was asked: What is Qurbani (Udhiyah)? He replied. "It is the Sunnah of your Father Abraham (Ibrahim). For every hair of the sacrificed animal you receive a reward from your Lord". (Tirmidhi)
